Believe in yourself. 👑 #believeinyourself #loveyourself #girlsruntheworld #girlsrule
Calling all artists! 🎨
Submissions by local and regional artists are invited in all media that represent "the powerful essence of being feminine” for our FemPowered Benefit (featuring a @hadleypollet fashion show) at the Carriage Barn Arts Center on May 12th. Selected works will be featured and available for sale at the event. (More info - link in bio.) Shown artwork: “Faced” by Sophie Westfall, Parsons School of Design. Sophie finds inspiration through the diversity of people in the world. She strives to capture people’s soul and spirits using colors and shading to show some of their inside qualities on the outside. #art #carriagebarnartscenter #fempower #feminine #hadleypollet #fashionforacause #nonprofit
"She is beautiful, but not like those girls in the magazines. She is beautiful, for the way she thinks. She is beautiful, for that sparkle in her eyes when she talks about something she loves. She is beautiful, for her ability to make other people smile even if she is sad. No, she isn’t beautiful for something as temporary as her looks. She is beautiful, deep down to her soul.” #loveyourself #beautiful #girlpower #nonprofit #girlsleadership
Barbara Bush ❤️ said, “Believe in something larger than yourself. Get involved in the big ideas of your time.” How do I do that, you ask? How do I make my voice count? Read this week’s blog post, “Your Voice Matters”, by LiveGirl high school mentor Victoria Iparraguirre. (Link in bio.) @wolfie_amade_mozart
Victoria shares, "When I was a young girl, I always had so much to say, but never knew how to say it. For some reason, I was so scared to speak my mind. Now that I’m older, I have found my voice and I am no longer afraid to use it. It took me a while to realize the power I had within myself, but now that I realize how impactful my words are, no one can silence me. Every girl has an inner lioness; she remains asleep until the girl is ready to embrace her inner power and let her lioness roar. As LiveGirl Mentor and CT State Representative Caroline Simmons says, “Women make up over half the population. It’s so important that girls and young women make their voices heard on issues they care about. Don’t sit and wait for the opportunities to come. Go and make them.” So, instead of staying quiet and hoping that someone else will say what you want to say, speak up. Sing! Scream! Shout it from the rooftops! Because your voice matters. Your words are yours and no one else’s. They are your most prized possession. Your words define you and with them you can start a movement, make a difference, and even change the world." #yourvoicematters #blog #girlsleadership #girlpower #powerofshe #mentor #mentoring #nonprofit #ct
The Parkland students have inspired us all. Join us next Friday, April 27th (grades 5-12, registration link in bio) and learn more about how to use your voice for positive change. Hear from some of the top women in our state (see bios below) and learn about the top legislative priorities that affect girls and women, select the one that means most to you, & join your peers in developing a call to action. (Did we mention that we’ll also enjoy a campfire & s’mores?!) ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS:

You are a marvel. ❤️ by Pau Casals
In honor of #nationalpoetrymonth
Each second we live is a new
and unique moment of the
universe, a moment that will
never be again . . . And what
do we teach our children? We
teach them that two and two
make four, and that Paris is
the capital of France.

When will we also teach
them what they are?

We should say to each of them:
Do you know what you are? You
are a marvel. You are unique. In
all the years that have passed,
there has never been another
child like you. Your legs,
your arms, your clever fingers,
the way you move.

You may become a Shakespeare, a Michelangelo,
a Beethoven. You have the
capacity for anything.
Yes, you are a marvel. And
when you grow up,
can you then harm another
who is, like you, a marvel?

You must work--we must
all work--to make the
world worthy of its children.

Go ahead. Think aloud. #yourvoicematters
Hey girl, I see you. You are an absolute marvel. 🌟 We all need the power of human connection. So, let’s make a deal. Let’s you and I reach out and include those around us and help them feel loved. (Tag someone now that you want to share positive vibes with!) Let’s pay it forward and start a kindness revolution. 💪🏼❤️#yourvoicematters #loveyourself #lovemore #girlpower #futureisfemale #powerofshe #letstellher #nonprofit #ct #girls #girlssupportinggirls
It’s that simple. The world needs more LOVE 💕#lovemore #loveyourself #girlpower
Sometimes the world can seem like such a big, messy place, but really it’s just a lot of people like you and me. The truth is that just one person, even if she is small, can still be mighty enough to change the world. Read this week’s blog post “Girls Who Are Changing the World” by @strongmagazineforgirls (link in bio) to learn about some inspirational girls who have dreamed big and done just that.
Many of these girls didn’t know exactly how they would change the world when they started out. They just knew that they saw a problem, and they were determined to help fix it. There’s nothing wrong with dreaming big and putting your ideas out there. Even if you don’t succeed, you will learn and grow, and one day, you too will make a difference that changes the world. #change #changetheworld #blog #nonprofit
